Billy, Cuddles and Funny Bunny Adventure in Victoria
Billy, Cuddles and Funny Bunny Adventure in Victoria is a story set in Victoria, BC, Canada. In addition to appealing to children, adults also find the quirky tone of the book entertaining. The adventure begins when three friends form a spy team to study human behaviour. First their investigation takes them to the top of Mount Neverest. Next they climb some trees in Beacon Hill Park. Then it’s over to Market Square where they enlist the help of the coin-operated horse. Finally, back at Beacon Hill Park, Billy gets into serious trouble at the lily-pad pond.
The book is 28 pages, soft cover, full colour, with 25 photo illustrations and is 6.5 inches high and 5.5 inches wide.
About the author:
“Nutmeg B” (now a young adult) wrote this story when she was a 10-year-old home-learning student. To begin her book, she took her favourite stuffed animal friends to her favourite spots in Victoria and posed them for their starring roles. When the photos came back from the camera shop (pre-digital camera days), she arranged them in a blank book. Next she wrote a series of captions under each photo to create the story. The renegade humour was no doubt influenced by her comedy tale-telling father and from being part of a big family where humour was both necessary and the norm.
