Access Copyright: http://www.accesscopyright.com/ Helps creators and publishers get paid for secondary uses of their works. Who qualifies? Canadian (citizen or permanent resident) writers, editors, translators and/or visual artists (i.e. illustrator, photographer, designer) outside province of Quebec who own reproduction rights to at least one work published in a print format such as a book, magazine, newspaper or scholarly journal and is also commercially available. ISBNs (International Standard Book Number) are free in Canada.

BARCODES are needed if you want to sell in stores with a bar-scanning system. ISBNs are built into barcodes to make them scannable (stores can also type in the ISBN).

CIP (Cataloging-in-Publication) at Collections Canada Services for Publishers -
Provides standardized library cataloguing for forthcoming Canadian publications. The CIP catalogue record is created and disseminated prior to publication and is printed in the book itself. Go to CollectionsCanada.gc.ca - Look for “Archives, Libraries and Publishers”

Public Lending Rights: The Public Lending Right (PLR) Commission distributes annual payments to Canadian authors for the presence of their books (not ebooks) in Canadian public libraries. See their eligibility page.
